The door has a door leaf (22) tapered within a lower region complementary to a recess (16) in a wall (12) of a tub (10). The door leaf has a seal (28) for sealing a smooth bearing surface (20) of the recess at an edge of the door leaf and a lift and hinge fitting (24) with which the door leaf is lowerable in a closing position. The seal has an elastic lip (30) projecting inside the tub. The lip is arranged such that the seal supports in the closing position of the door leaf by pressure of liquid in the tub. The seal is attached closely to the bearing surface.
