The device has a carrier part (36), and a rivet element (34) acting as a compensation mass for balancing the rotation device. The rivet element is accommodated in an opening that is formed in the carrier part. The rivet element comprises a rivet head (44) and a rivet shaft (40), which is extended from the rivet head. A form-fit and/or material-fit and/or frictional connection (56) is formed within the opening between the rivet shaft and the opening. A disk part i.e. flange part (28), is arranged adjacent to the carrier part, and another opening (48) is formed in the disk part. An independent claim is also included for a method for balancing a rotation device.
