The method involves measuring temperature of a heating circuit to provide a temperature value using a temperature sensor or vaporizer sensor (5) of an air conditioning apparatus (1). A heating circuit of a motor vehicle is heated, and a temperature gradient that is determined from the change of the temperature value is compared with a minimum value using a diagnose unit or a control device of a car. Time for reaching a pre-set temperature value is measured to determine the gradient, and a pre-determined measuring position of a cool air flap (6) is measured.
