The device has an overlay ramp (3) for operating a windscreen wiper (10) and arranged at a portion at a car pane (2). A wiping blade (1) of the wiper is spaced in an inoperative position of the car pane. The ramp is formed as a comb-like transverse profile with ribs and slots. The ribs form a support for the blade, and the slots form water drain channels. The ribs and the slots are oriented parallel to a slant of the car pane. The ramp is made from plastic. Heating wires are passed into the ribs and manually and/or temperature-controllably actuated by a control device.
