The component has a resolver/digital converter (RDC) (1) for generating of an excitation signal (3). A resolver (2) provides two sinusoidal signals (4, 5) based on the excitation signal. The resolver/converter samples the sinusoidal signals for providing a primary position at a sampling time, and derives a primary angle measurement value from the primary position. A sampling unit samples each sinusoidal signal for providing a secondary position at another sampling time. A calculating unit compares the value with an angle value with compensation of a time difference between two sampling time. An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of an angular position of a rotor.
