The pin has a needle body for inserting a testing device into a displaceable unit (2). A test needle (14) is received within the needle body at a plug contact of plugs to be tested. A core shaped piston (12) is lengthwise-slidably received at the needle body in a spring prestressed manner. The piston has a contact surface at a plug front side of a plug housing of the plug. The test needle is received in the piston, and the test needle is spring prestressed. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a plug.
