The method involves utilizing two immiscible washing liquids such as aqueous solution and biodegradable oil such as silicone type oil, of a surface active compound contained in a single retention tank (4) simultaneously. The liquids are transferred to a head of a spraying reactor with a lining. The liquids are sprayed in droplets and with reduced diameter. Air loaded in a non-methanic volatile organic compound to be absorbed is circulated in a reverse direction flow of the sprayed liquids. The liquids used as absorbing fluids are recirculated. The replacement of the liquids is managed. The oil is chosen from polyethyleneglycol, silicone, saturated hydrocarbon, wax, thermal oil and natural oil. The aqueous solution constituted of water added with reactant that is chosen among acids, inorganic bases, oxidizing agent such as hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, permanganate and ozone, and reducing agent such as thiosulphate, bisulphite and chelating agent. An independent claim is also included for a volatile organic compound eliminating installation comprising a tank.
