Method for optimizing injected fuel quantity in cylinder of e.g. indirect injection internal combustion engine, involves modifying fuel injection moment of injector with respect to instantaneous pressure in injection ramp
The method involves modifying fuel injection moment of an injector (7) with respect to instantaneous pressure in an injection ramp (5) at a degree of angle of a crankshaft (12) in which performances of the engine are unaltered. The fuel injection moment of the injector is adapted in a cylinder (8) by modifying an advancement of injection of the injector. Optimum fuel injection moment of the injector is determined by tests and/or physical models according to an operating point and parameters of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a system for optimizing a quantity of injected fuel into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.
