The head (1) has a solid portion (10) provided with an intake orifice. An exhaust orifice and a water circulation zone i.e. water core (5), are arranged in the solid portion. Reinforcement nanostructures are distributed in the solid portion in a uniform manner. The solid portion is made of aluminum based alloy. The reinforcement nanostructures include nanofibers, nanotubes or nanopowder, where the nanopower is selected from carbon black, alumina powder and silicon carbide powder. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine.
