The press has a reception and collection device (3) for receiving and collecting granules, and a die (1) designed as a flat die. A supply and pressing unit (2) is extended and moved above the flat die along longitudinal axis of the die. The reception and collection device is extended below the flat die and parallel to the flat die such that linear movement is realized between the die and the supply and pressing unit. The supply and pressing unit comprises a compression cylinder (4) that extends transverse over width of the die, where the cylinder is mounted on a displacement unit (5).
