The device (10) has a hand brake lever (9) movable on certain course and operated from an action of a user. A temporization unit is operationally connected to the hand brake lever for on-board triggering of dynamic and mechanical braking effects related to corresponding operations of the hand brake lever, under the control of the hand brake lever. The temporization unit is constituted of a multi-stage displacement system, a sensor, on-board controller (7) and a control unit (150) that is connected to a mechanical brake system of a straddle-mounted motor vehicle (1). An independent claim is also included for a two or three-wheeled motor vehicle comprising a friction brake.
