The package has an elementary package (2) formed with a sheet of material in which bulk number of foodstuffs are placed. The sheet of the elementary package is folded on the foodstuffs and formed a bottom portion (3) that surrounds the foodstuffs. A skirt portion (4) extends remotely from the foodstuffs. A tightened zone (5) of the sheet is formed between the bottom portion and the skirt portion, where the bottom portion forms a head of the display package and the skirt portion forms a foot of the display package. The transition zone between head and foot is tightened by a tightening unit. The sheet material is selected from cellophane, plastics, aluminum and plastic-aluminum composites. An independent claim is also included for a display package forming method.
