The case has an inlet opening (1) for flow of air to be extracted, and a centrifugal fan (3) driven by an engine (5) and equipped between the inlet opening and an outlet opening (2), where a pressure zone of the centrifugal fan is connected to the opening. A cooling unit is placed towards the engine. An internal space of the case is divided into two compartments (6a, 6b) by the centrifugal fan. The engine is equipped in one compartment (6b), and is cooled by cooling air different from the flow of air to be extracted. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an air extraction case.
