The device (10) has a rectilinear conduit (20) connected to a suction source, and a dust stopping element (24) integrated to the conduit. A protection casing partially surrounds a disk shaped grinding wheel (14) of a grinding machine (12). The dust stopping element is integrated to the protection casing, and is mounted tangentially to a portion of the protection casing. An elastomer skirt (30) is arranged in elongation of the dust stopping element in a remote direction of the conduit.
