The armchair (1) has a seat (2) mounted on a foot (3) around a horizontal rotation axis (R) corresponding to a center of gravity (G) of a person. A circular sliding ramp (50) of the pivoting unit (5) is integrated to the seat. A rolling element (51) is integrated to the foot sliding on the ramp. A blocking unit is arranged to block the seat in a tilted position. A frame (22) of the pivoting unit carries the seat below a base (20) that is parallell and symmetrical with respect to a central axis (C) of the foot and provided with the ramp, where the central axis passes through the rotation axis.
