The unit (1) has a diagnostic device with a pressure sensor (6) measuring pressure (P) downstream and/or upstream of a movable control element (4) e.g. automatically or manually controlled flap. An electronic control logic (8) e.g. microprocessor, receives values measured by the pressure sensor and a temperature sensor (7). A radio frequency emitter (9) is controlled by the logic for selectively sending information provided by the sensors. The diagnostic device has an electronic device (10) e.g. radio-frequency identification tag, connected to the logic. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a fluid distribution system comprising ducts (2) a method for monitoring functioning of the fluid distribution system.
