The assembly has a connector (10) provided with a transverse axle (13). An adapter (2) is provided with a fixation unit for fixing the assembly on an activating arm (1). The adapter and the connector turn with respect to each other in a plane perpendicular to an operating plane around of the transverse axle. Extensions extend tangentially with respect to the transverse axle. The connector is provided with a stop surface cooperated with stop units i.e. flat parts, in order to limit relative rotation of two elements in direction remote from an operating position. An independent claim is also included for a windscreen wiper system.
