Installation for transferring sub-assembly of vehicle from initial position toward final position in production line, has support unit defining access space that is formed to receive gripping unit of carrying robot
The installation has a conveyor (4) supporting a sub-assembly (1) in a final position in which a surface of the sub-assembly is supported on the conveyor. A carrying robot (5) includes a gripping unit (50) gripping the sub-assembly. The carrying robot holds the sub-assembly from an initial position, and displaces the sub-assembly from the initial position toward an intermediate position. The support unit defines an access space (7) that accesses the surface of the sub-assembly in the intermediate position, and the access space is formed to receive the gripping unit of the carrying robot. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring a sub-assembly of vehicle from an initial position toward a final position in a production line.
