The method (4) involves actuating a motor of a ventilator (d), and measuring intensity consumed by the motor (e). The measured intensity of the motor is compared with threshold intensity (f). Presence information of a white frost on an exchanger is delivered (g) when the measured intensity of the motor is greater than the threshold intensity. Absence information of the white frost on the exchanger is delivered (h) when the measured intensity of the motor is not greater than the threshold intensity. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an air-conditioning loop.
