The device has a needle driven by an electric motor e.g. stepper motor. A mechanical connection element (2) of the needle is connected with a rotating body (1) by a coupling stage, where the rotating body is rotatably driven by the motor. A surface of the rotating body is in contact with the mechanical connection element. The surface of the rotating body has a portion with predetermined roughness, and another portion with reduced roughness. The rotating body is made of metallic material. The mechanical connection element is made of plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a needle for display device.
