A vehicle message display device with portable message programming capability, comprising: a vehicle message display panel; a memory unit; a keypad; and a remote control unit. It is envisaged that the vehicle message display panel will be affixed to the back windscreen of a vehicle. The user may programme a number of custom messages for drivers and passengers of other vehicles, using a keypad on the vehicle message display panel. When driving, the user may press a key on the remote control unit to display a programmed message on the vehicle message display panel.
