Portable sign for displaying names when meeting people.

A portable display sign is disclosed on which a name can be displayed so that people may easily identify travel personnel or transportation means, e.g. for meeting people at airports. The sign comprises a screen 102 for displaying the name an attachment point (202, Fig. 2) and a support means 502 for displaying the sign in a prominent position, The screen can be an LCD or plasma screen or an LED array powered by batteries housed in the base of the sign. Alternatively it may be a wipeable whiteboard on which a message may be written and erased. The support means can be a telescopic stand 502, or it can be a magnetic base (604, Fig. 6) which holds the sign in place via a spring locking mechanism (608, Fig. 6). This latter arrangement means the sign can be easily mounted on the roof of a vehicle. The magnetic base may carry a message and may also be illuminated.
