PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new methylol compound containing a structural unit having a charge-transport function (hole transport property) and a methylol group in a molecule, having excellent compatibility with other monomers and polymers such as polycarbonate and film-forming property, and enabling both of the formation of a high-density crosslinked structure coping with the requirement of mechanical durability such as abrasion resistance and heat-resistance by chemical reaction and the development of good charge transport property, a method for producing the compound, and a production intermediate of the compound.;SOLUTION: There is provided the methylol compound expressed by general formula (1) (in the formula, X is -O-, -CH₂-, -CH=CH- or -CH₂CH₂-).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
