PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina colloid-containing aqueous solution including the neutral region and having excellent long-term storage stability.;SOLUTION: The method for producing an alumina colloid-containing aqueous solution of a pH of 5.5-9 is characterized by mixing an organic acid, alumina hydrate and an alkali agent together and heating. Alternatively, the method for producing an alumina colloid-containing aqueous solution of a pH of 5.5-9 is characterized by mixing an aqueous solution of a basic aluminum salt of an organic acid with an alkali agent. In both production methods, the product (A) of the number of moles of the organic acid by the number of carboxy groups of the organic acid and the number (B) of moles of Al2O3 in the alumina colloid-containing aqueous solution meet the condition: A/B=1.0 to 2.0.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
