PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide collagen having no problem in safety of BSE or the like, and showing an effect excellent in moisture retaining activity or the like when being used in a cosmetic.;SOLUTION: This invention relates to collagen containing III type collagen prepared from a marine organism such as a shrimp, an atelocollagen derivative obtained by succinylating the collagen or the like, and a method for producing the same.
