PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method allowing to manufacture a steel wire, bar steel or ribbon steel having a never attainable high level of 0.2% proof stress and allowing to ensure nonmagnetism when not weighting and adding an alloy element which is a chemical component of austenitic stainless steel and precious while saving energy and reducing equipment load.;SOLUTION: The high-strength nonmagnetic austenitic stainless steel wire, bar steel or ribbon steel which is made of austenitic stainless steel, and is at least 0.80 GPa in 0.2% proof stress and less than 1.02 in magnetic permeability at room temperatures, and is at least 2 μm/μm2 in grain boundary density of azimuth difference of 5 or more degrees in grain boundary density is manufactured by performing plastic working such as rolling or the like of at least 70% in working rate in a temperature range from at least 350°C to not more than 650°C by using commercially available general nonmagnetic austenitic stainless steel as the raw material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
