PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible technique for digital representation and generation of realistic fur coats on geometric models of surfaces, such as animals.;SOLUTION: A hair pipeline for generating a hair comprises surface definition module to define a surface, and an optimization module to determine whether a hair is to be rendered upon the surface.
