PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for stopping a workpiece capable of stopping a workpiece so as not to damage the workpiece, and to provide a method for stopping a workpiece using the same.;SOLUTION: This device 100 for stopping a workpiece is used for stopping a running workpiece W, and includes a base 1 on which the workpiece W runs, stopper bodies 2 arranged on the base 1, and rails 3 arranged parallel to the base 1, wherein the stopper body 2 can slide on the rail 3 through a connection part 5, and the stopper body 2 stops the workpiece W while sliding in a direction identical to the advancing direction of the workpiece W.
