PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of performing near-touch separation in a touch panel with which a plurality of touches positioned within a short distance on the touch panel can be discriminated.SOLUTION: A valid touch level is first determined by removing noise corresponding to a distribution of input touch levels at panel points on a touch panel (S100). At such a time, a two-dimensional pattern of the effective touch level indicates a pattern on a touch panel plane and includes a column direction pattern, a row direction pattern and the like. On the basis of the determined valid touch level, near touches on the touch panel are then separated, and one or more touch points are determined from among the panel points on the touch panel (S500). Thus, a plurality of touches on the touch panel can be accurately detected.
