PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparent density measuring method capable of highly accurately measuring an apparent density of a metal powder according to an online and no-contact method without intercepting a process of manufacturing a mixed powder or a process of manufacturing a powder mold.SOLUTION: An apparent density measuring method includes accommodating a metal powder in a container, applying an AC magnetic flux to the metal powder using an exciting coil disposed outside the container, detecting the AC magnetic flux transmitted through the metal powder by a detection coil disposed outside the container, and using an amplitude of the detected AC magnetic flux and an analytical curve prepared in advance for a relative relationship between an apparent density of the metal powder and the amplitude of the AC magnetic flux, thereby determining the apparent density of the metal powder. According to the apparent density measuring method, the apparent density of the metal powder can be measured highly accurately through an online and non-contact method without intercepting a process of manufacturing the mixed powder or a process of manufacturing a powder mold.
