PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lumbago preventing device and a lumbago prevention method by which a worker can simply and easily grasp the risk of a load to his waist by the work in real time.SOLUTION: The lumbago preventing device 1 includes an angle sensor 2 (human trunk angle detection means) which is attached to human trunk B of the worker M to detect an angle of human trunk B, a load sensor 3 (sole load detection means) attached on the sole S of the worker M for detecting load acting on the sole S, a CPU 5 (load value calculation means) for calculating a load acting on the waist as the load value R based on various information detected by the angle sensor 2 and the load sensor 3, a CPU 5 (risk value setting means) for setting a load on the waist which may cause damage on the waist as the risk value r based on the basic information of the worker M, and a speaker 6 (warning means) for dispatching beep sound based on a comparison between the load value R and the risk value r.
