PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus capable of varying a focus display scale of a view finder, thereby solving such a problem that amounts of contour components are varied according to subjects, dynamic ranges of the contour components are diversified and, as a function of assisting it, a cameraman manually sets it to display in a scale that matches each subject for easily viewing a change in the amount of contour components, however, the cameraman needs to manually set the scale of the display whenever needed, and the operation is troublesome.;SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus automatically variably displays the focus display scale of the view finder according to the amount of contour components.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
