PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a machine identification number from leaking out.;SOLUTION: An authentication system comprises: a client terminal including a calculation unit for calculating a first irreversible value from a first character string and a machine identification number uniquely given to the client terminal by using a predetermined calculation method, and a transmission unit for transmitting an authentication request including a first personal identification number of the client terminal and the first irreversible value; and a server including a storage unit for storing a second personal identification number of the client terminal and a second irreversible value calculated from the machine identification number and the first character string, and an authentication unit for authenticating the client terminal when receiving the authentication request from the client terminal if the first personal identification number of the client terminal and the first irreversible number which are included in the authentication request match the second personal identification number of the client terminal and the second irreversible value which are stored in the storage unit, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
