摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an alkali storage battery capable of obtaining superior high-rate discharge characteristics without lowering manufacturing efficiency.SOLUTION: A fiber web made of an organic fiber is used for manufacturing a positive electrode core 7. A nonwoven fabric is produced by firstly subjecting the fiber web to treatment of controlling an orientation of the fiber so that the tensile strength in a width direction becomes higher than the tensile strength in a longitudinal direction, and to heat treatment. The treated nonwoven fabric contains a plurality of fibers having a state of orienting in the width direction. The treated nonwoven fabric is subsequently plated with a metallic material, and then the plated nonwoven fabric is heated to melt the organic fiber. Thereby, only a skeleton of metal plating is left.
