PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scrubber which achieves reduction in the amount of clean water to be replenished, efficiently removes a contaminant in the gas to be treated and suppresses the discharge of the contaminant to the outside.;SOLUTION: The scrubber 10 has a packed column 1 in which a first packed layer 2 is arranged in a lower stage and a second packed layer 3 is arranged in an upper stage. The circular cleaning water W1 stored in a water storage part 5 is supplied to the first packed layer 2 through a water spraying pipe 4 and the clean water W2 is supplied to the second packed layer 3 through a water spraying pipe 7. Since the contaminant-containing gas G1 to be treated is first scrubbed roughly by the circular cleaning water W1 in the first packed layer 2 and the gas G1, which is to be treated and contains the low concentration of the contaminant, is brought into gas-liquid contact with the clean water W2 in the second packed layer 3, excellent contaminant removal performance can be attained even when the amount of the clean water W2 to be used is reduced, and the concentration of the contaminant in the exhaust gas to be discharged from the scrubber 10 to the outside can be decreased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
