PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a final solidification position and a final solidification shape in continuous casting to be more accurately estimated.;SOLUTION: A solidification state of a cast slab in the continuous casting is estimated with a heat transfer model using heat flux based on a cooling condition of at least a secondary cooling. The temperature distribution in a width direction of the cast slab is measured at a predetermined measurement position in a longitudinal direction of the cast slab, which is a pulling direction of the cast slab, with a thermometer 4b.
