PORT NUMBER CONVERSION METHOD FOR TCP/IP COMMUNICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an application B (application already used in a system) to simultaneously perform communication of 65,536 or greater by adjusting port numbers that an intermediate application A (application using the present invention) introduced in the system assigns to the application B to make the application B recognize the numeric of 65,536 or greater to be "available ports".;SOLUTION: In a host that operates applications and processes for communication, an intermediate application for a port mask technique is introduced. Means is provided for "not producing the simultaneous occurrence of the combination of identical ports", with an increased range of port numbers to be assigned to an "application actually desiring to perform TCP/IP communication" to greater than 65,535 by the setting of the intermediate application.
