TRANSFORMANT ESCHERICHIA COLI IMPROVED IN XYLOSE METABOLISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Escherichia coli strain hardly affected with catabolite repression effect in the presence of glucose and improved in xylose metabolism.SOLUTION: There is provided a transformant Escherichia coli expressing xylose isomerase from the beginning of culture and hardly affected with catabolite repression effect by introducing to an Escherichia coli strain a plasmid vector introduced with a structure expressing type promotor and a xylose isomerase gene. Further, a transformant Escherichia coli further improved in xylose metabolism by expressing a series of enzymes and proteins relating to xylose in addition to the xylose isomerase is provided.
