PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speckle noise evaluation method, speckle noise evaluation device, and image display device which enable speckle noise evaluation closer to a subjective view.;SOLUTION: A speckle noise evaluation device 1 is used for a displayed image. The device 1 comprises: light receiving means 5 for capturing image data; spectral analysis means 7 for obtaining wavelength distribution data by analyzing a wavelength; a photo-detector 9 for obtaining a time frequency; and a data analysis part 10. The data analysis part 10 obtains a speckle evaluation index and Fourier transforms image data, thereby obtaining space frequency data, and additionally obtains contrast sensitivity to use it as a first correction coefficient. A relative luminous sensitivity based on the wavelength distribution data obtained by the spectral analysis means is obtained to use it as a second correction coefficient.
