Time digital converter with improved resolution (TDC: TIME-TO-DIGITALCONVERTER)

A method (1400) of calibrating a time-to-digital converter (500) comprising first and second delay paths (510a, 510b). The method comprises: adjusting (1412) delay of a first reference signal for the first delay path to time align the first reference signal with a first input signal for the first delay path; and adjusting (1414) delay of a second reference signal for the second delay path to time align the second reference signal with a second input signal for the second delay path. The time-to-digital converter may have fine resolution of less than one inverter delay.
