PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the strength of a mixture of a dredged material and steel slag when modifying the strength of the dredged material by mixing with the steel slag.;SOLUTION: In the method for estimating the strength of a mixture x composed of a dredged material and steel slag when modifying the dredged material, an estimate f of the uniaxial compressive strength of the mixture x is obtained by a formula: f=α×Ds×Sg×{(Co-Ch)/Wa}. In the formula, Ds=[the mass of dredged material grains with a size of 0.075 mm or smaller in the mixture x]/[the mass of a solid in the mixture x]×100 (%), Sg=[the mass of steel slag grains with a size of 2 mm or smaller in the mixture x]/[the mass of steel slag in the mixture x]×100 (%), Ch represents the blending quantity of hydrated lime enabling the uniaxial compressive strength of the mixture to be 50 kN/m2 by mixing the hydrated lime into the dredged material to be modified in a preliminary test, Co represents free CaO contained in the steel slag, Wa represents the mass (kg) of water per 1 m3 of the mixture x, and α represents a constant determined by the type of the hydrated lime in obtaining Ch.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
