PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing L-lactic acid by a continuous fermentation method that high productivity can be stably maintained over a long period of time without lowering optical purity of L-lactic acid.;SOLUTION: The continuous fermentation includes: filtering a fermented culture liquid of Bacillus coagulans, which is a microorganism having an ability to produce L-lactic acid, through a separation membrane; holding in or returning current of an unfiltrate into the fermented culture liquid while retrieving L-lactic acid from the filtrate; and adding a fermentation raw material of the microorganism to the fermented culture liquid. The method for producing L-lactic acid by continuous fermentation includes using a porous membrane having an average pore diameter from ≥0.01 μm to 1 μm as the separation membrane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
