METHOD FOR JOINING CARBON FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join a pair of joining objects 11, 12 at least one of which is a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite material to each other by using resistance welding.SOLUTION: This joining method includes processes of: arranging a resistance heating element 2 between a pair of joining objects 11, 12 and pressing the pair of joining objects 11, 12 in a direction for tightly fitting them to each other; and welding the pair of joining objects 11, 12 to each other by carrying a current to the resistance heating element 2. The resistance heating element 2 is composed by forming an insulation layer thereon by applying a chemical surface treatment to a metallic heating element.
