PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform data communication by allowing a reception side to specify the respective positions of light emitting elements.;SOLUTION: An optical transmitting device blinks an LED array with blinking patterns consisting of a lighting pattern of whole lighting, a lighting pattern of whole extinction and lighting patterns of two kinds of grid patterns as the header of a transmission packet, and then, blinks the LED array with blinking patterns corresponding to transmission data. An optical receiving device continuously images the LED array of the optical transmitting device with a high-speed camera, detects the position of the LED array, based on the imaged image of the lighting pattern of whole lighting, and calculates one symbol period, based on the imaged image of the lighting pattern of whole lighting and the imaged image of the lighting pattern for whole extinction. Then, the positions of the respective LEDs in the LED array are specified, based on the imaged image of the lighting pattern of the two kinds of grid patterns, and also the maximum luminance value of each LED is acquired.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
