PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer in a guard fence, for which attaching work can be easily and quickly performed, and the guard fence including the retainer.;SOLUTION: The retainer in the guard fence prevents a horizontally long horizontal material 2 disposed between insertion holes 1A and 1B formed respectively on a plurality of columns 1 erected at intervals from falling out of the insertion holes 1A and 1B. The retainer includes a first member 5 attached to the horizontal material 2 and a second member 6 attached to the column 1 and connectable with the first member 5, and the first member 5 includes an annular holding part 5A for holding the horizontal material 2 in a circumferential direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
