PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device for determining a blank document with high precision while taking into account show-through influences on a double-sided document. PSOLUTION: The image processing device includes: a processing section 100 for area-separating the front side of a double-sided document image; a processing section 102 for extracting a first specific area having a component that is affected by a show-through component on a rear side from the result of the separation; a processing section 104 for counting the number of pixels equal to or higher than predetermined density on the front side; a first document determination processing section 106 for temporarily determining whether or not the front side is a blank document on the basis of full density information; a processing section 108 for area-separating the rear side of the double-sided document; a processing section 110 for extracting a second specific area having a component that becomes a show-through to the front side from the result of the separation; and a second document determination processing section 112 for determining whether or not the front side is a blank document by comparing the first specific area and the second specific area when the first document determination processing section 106 determines that the front side is not the blank document.
