BLOOD VESSEL SEALING FORCEPS EQUIPPED WITH BIPOLAR ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bipolar forceps which can consistently and effectively seal a blood vessel and tissue, and cannot be damaged by continuous use and cleaning.;SOLUTION: The forceps 10 are equipped with mechanical forceps 20 and an electrode assembly 21. The mechanical forceps 20 include end effectors 22, 24 facing each other and handles 16, 18 for moving the end effectors 22, 24 relative to each other. The electrode assembly 21 includes a pair of electrodes 110, 120 detachably attachable to the forceps 20 and is attached to the distal end. Each of the electrodes can be detachably engaged with one of the end effectors and, as a result, the electrodes exist in a relation facing each other. Further, there is provided a stopper member which controls a distance between the electrodes 110 and 120 facing each other and is selectively engageable with at least one of the electrodes 110 and 120.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
