PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail wavy abrasion detection method and a rail wavy abrasion detection system with which the wavy abrasion of a rail is evaluated on a space axis without depending on the travel speed of a railway vehicle.;SOLUTION: At least one of vibration acceleration and noise is measured with respect to the travel time of a railway vehicle (20) on the railway vehicle (20) traveling on a rail (31), and time axis data is generated. The time axis data is converted into space axis data associated with the travel distance of the railway vehicle (20). The space axis data is subject to band pulse filter processing on a space frequency axis, thereby generating filter processing data.
