PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device which increases data access speed and a method for driving thereof.;SOLUTION: In the data storage device of this invention, a memory block including nonvolatile memory of different kind is provided. Free data (FDTA) are preferentially stored in a low speed memory of large capacity though access speed is slow. On the other hand, busy data (BDTA) are preferentially stored in a high speed memory whose data access speed is fast though capacity is relatively small. Consequently, the data access speed of the data storage device is increased even from a restricted resource. In addition, when a storage space of the high speed memory for storing the busy data runs short, the busy data are stored by replacing the memory to the low speed memory. Thus, since memory spaces for storing attribute information of data are floating, waste of the memory space is prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
