PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device which increases data access speed and a method for driving thereof.;SOLUTION: In the data storage device of this invention, a memory block including nonvolatile memory of different kind is provided. Free data (FDTA) are preferentially stored in a low speed memory of large capacity though access speed is slow. On the other hand, busy data (BDTA) are preferentially stored in a high speed memory whose data access speed is fast though capacity is relatively small. Consequently, the data access speed of the data storage device is increased even from a restricted resource. In addition, when a storage space of the high speed memory for storing the busy data runs short, the busy data are stored by replacing the memory to the low speed memory.
