PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a child particle of a compound type particle for a display medium, having chargeability, hardness, particle diameter in proper ranges, and charge retention characteristics.SOLUTION: A display medium having an optical reflectivity and chargeability is encapsulated between two base plates of which at least one is transparent. The display medium is charged, allowing an information display panel to display an information image by moving the display medium. A manufacturing method of a child particle to be fastened to a mother particle of a compound type particle for the display medium comprises the steps of: manufacturing a first fine particle through polymerization of a monomer A and a monomer B; manufacturing a second fine particle through reaction between the first fine particle and a compound C that reacts with the monomer A; and manufacturing a third fine particle through reaction between the compound C and a compound D that reacts with the compound C to form the child particle.
